Nace DeSanders is an accomplished experimental horror filmmaker, known for her proficiency in various roles such as writer, director, and producer. After gaining recognition with short films such as Infatuation, The Wounded and the Watcher, and Hello Sickness, she is now ready to take on her first feature film project, Dance of the Demon. Originally from New York, USA, Nace embraces a semi-nomadic lifestyle, consistently seeking fresh environments to inspire her artistic endeavors. Currently based in Madrid, Spain, she continues to contribute to the global cinematic landscape, seamlessly blending her New York origins with the cultural richness of her current surroundings.
Nace’s filmmaking education has come through various channels. She participated in the Destroy All Boundaries directing mentorship program, where she studied under the accomplished indie horror director Adam Egypt Mortimer. She also learned to direct actors through the Unlock Her Potential mentorship, guided by the talented Kelvin Harrison Jr. Additionally, Nace served as an operations director for a prominent film production company and is currently contributing to the success of an emerging streaming platform, Soleil Space. These multifaceted experiences have shaped her into a well-rounded filmmaker.
Nace enhances the festival circuit as a respected consultant, offering jury and programming services, and masterclasses. She currently works with the Queer Women of Color Film Festival, continuing to leave a significant mark on the industry through her expertise and dedication.
