Wanuri Kahiu is a filmmaker who directed the sci-fi movie Pumzi, set in a not-too-distant future where water (and hope) is scarce. In 2018, she released Rafiki, a love story between two teen girls set in Nairobi. The film was banned in Kenya but the ban was later reversed.
