Tourmaline is an activist, writer, and filmmaker.  She is the director of Salacia, a short film about Mary Jones, a trans woman who was outed in the 1800s in New York, and co-director of Happy Birthday, Marsha! a short film about trans activist Marsha P. Johnson.
