Nijla Mu'min is a filmmaker and writer from the Bay Area. In 2018, she released the award-winning coming-of-age film Jinn, a movie about a teen (Zoe Renee) whose life is turned upside down when her mother (played by Simone Missick) suddenly converts to Islam. Mu’min has also directed episodic television, including Queen Sugar, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, and Swagger.
