Michaela Coel is a writer, producer, actress, and director based in London. She is known for her critically acclaimed Netflix comedy series Chewing Gum, which she starred in, wrote, and produced, as well as I May Destroy You, her award-winning HBO-BBC series that is based on her own account of being sexually assaulted. Coel wrote, directed, produced, and stars in the nine-episode drama series.
