Ja’Tovia M. Gary

Ja’Tovia M. Gary is an artist and filmmaker based in Brooklyn. Her films and experimental video art often explore Black life in varied and nuanced ways. Her work has been screened at the Whitney Museum, MOCA Los Angeles, MoMA P.S.1 and many other film festivals worldwide. Her critically acclaimed film THE GIVERNY DOCUMENT (2019) is “a multi-textured cinematic poem that meditates on the safety and bodily autonomy of Black women” according to her press materials. It was filmed in Harlem and Giverny, France.
