Cydia Simone Flowers is a Belizean-American producer, director, actress, and designer. She received her Bachelor's degree in Film Production and Psychology from Howard University, where she also produced her debut documentary short film, “Oreo” which became an official selection at Chicago Onscreen Film Festival in 2016. After graduating, She studied at Yale University's Summer Conservatory where she also laid the foundation for a career in acting.
Upon returning to Chicago, she founded her production company FlowerStudio Productions, with the goal of spearheading micro-budget short films and series that amplify dynamic coming-of-age narratives of Black, women, and/or LGBTQIA characters.
After producing her first web-series, Cindi and The City, Cydia was accepted into the Sundance Institute Director’s ColLab program, where she learned key components of naturalistic film directing under the guidance of film director, Peter Sollett. Her emphasis on human development, empowerment, and naturalism can be found in her subsequent storytelling. That same year, she performed in a number of roles including The Interrogation of Sandra Bland at The Goodman Theatre and Sir Stanley in Eclectic Full Contact Theatre's adaptation of Richard III.
In 2024 she co-directed The Last Agent, and is now in development of a television pilot.
