An Emmy-nominated pioneer in Black American independent cinema, Ayoka Chenzira is one of the first African American women to write, produce and direct a 35mm feature film. She is a member of the Directors Guild of America and an NAACP-nominated television director with the distinction of having a film inducted into the National Film Registry at the Library of Congress. Her TV directing credits include episodes of Queen Sugar, Greenleaf, Trinkets, A League of Their Own, and Kindred.
